The Cikada Pianotrio is comprised of members of the Cikada ensemble, which was was was founded in Oslo in 1989. Aesthetically unbiased, Cikada is open to a manifold range of repertoire in combination with a passionately refined approach to concert programming. Each concert is carefully programmed to create a present and welcoming musical flow. Cikada was awarded the prestigious Nordic Music Prize in 2005. In concerts at major international festivals and on numerous albums, Cikada’s distinct ensemble profile manifests itself in strong programming. Central to Cikada is a devotion to develop close, long-term collaborations with composers and to build composer portraits with both existing and commissioned works over time.

Ole Martin Huser-Olsen holds a Masters degree in classical guitar from the Norwegian Academy of Music, where he was rewarded with the highest grade. He has toured large parts of Norway, including a concert in Edvard Grieg’s home, Troldhaugen, in 2005, and annual concerts at the Norwegian National Opera since 2008. He has also performed in Los Angeles in 2008, Helsinki in 2010, at the prestigious Pompidou Centre in Paris in 2011 and 2013, and in Berlin 2014. He is often heard as a soloist, but has also worked with musicians such as the world-renowned baritone Knut Skram, Ensemble Ernst, Ensemble Axiom and many of the other young aspiring classical musicians in Norway. With his debut as soloist with orchestra in 2012, Houses-Olsen proved that he controls a burning commitment to a broad range of music, with a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to modernism and the very latest contemporary music.
